Female Stars Of Comics

Looked at them, 11 in all. 2 Vertigo. 1 a special. 1 I’m only buying for duration of crossover.

Yeah…

I will be buying more independent comic books.

And for the first time in a long time DC got their asses kicked.

Well now… that is a fucking dumb idea.

I was only planning on buying Action Comics but have cut that.

So now they lost a talented, if cult fave, writer in Andy Diggle and a writer whose considered a rising star in Joshua Hale Fialkov. Plus Grant Morrison is exiting all monthly books.

So now DC officially has 2 golden boys, a top female writer, and everyone else. No slight on them. Some are on books that sale well in the direct market.

The point is, DC needs talent to write their comics and they might be turning everyone away.

Edit: DC’s been quick to put new writers on but if Bleeding Cool is be believed, this is only the start. Seems that the major issue DC has, which was addressed at their retreat, was not dealt with.

Then we get mad when they do because its not what we want.

I guess you can’t win.

6 new titles + 4 new Green Lantern teams.

Is Orson Scott Card a terrible homophobic jack ass? Yes.

Did he also write one of the best fucking novels I’ve ever read? Yes.

Should he be writing a Superman project? Thats DC’s decision.

Will I be buying it? Probably not.

Are the people blowing up at Rich Johnston of Bleeding Cool for his views about campaigns to firing creators just being jerks? Maybe just the one who said he’s a bad parent.

Thats what made me go from “I like Grant Morrison” to “Morrison is God.”
